The theme of this year’s conference is Culture for Sharing. Topic Maps is a technology for knowledge sharing, as will be demonstrated by a number of exciting presentations this year, including some that cover free – collaborative – software for Topic Maps.
The Topic Maps Users’ Conference is also an ideal arena for sharing experiences and “best practices”. As usual, there will be something for everyone, with the emphasis on good examples of Topic Maps in practice. Among the case studies featured this year are the new Topic Maps-driven web sites at the Rikshospitalet University Hospital in Oslo and the University of Bergen.
Stian Danenbarger will talk about model-driven searching.
Robert Engels will talk about semantic interoperability in the SeSam4 project which is applying RDF/OWL and Topic Maps technologies in tandem to the domain of tourism.
Jørgen Dalen will present Knowledge Management solutions in which Topic Maps is used as a strategic tool for improving the findability of both people and knowledge in global organizations.
Internationally renowned writer and law professor Jon Bing will also be there – will you?
